日本の音風景百選（環境省）にも選ばれ、宮城を代表する風景でもあった北上川河口域のヨシ原が震災による地盤沈下などで100haも消失・衰退しました。屋根葺き材として価値の高いヨシを産出し、地域の生業にも大きな影響がでています。ヨシ原の持つ機能や価値とともに、その再生に関わる研究や市民活動について紹介します。
