Gerard Jimmy Paraison won first prize in the Japanese speech contest.

Gerard Jimmy Paraison (2nd Grade of Graduate Department of Communication Engineering, Graduate school of Engineering, Tohoku Institute of Technology) won first prize in the Japanese speech contest under the auspices of the Sendai International Relations Association on September 23, 2011.

President Krisada Visavateeranon of Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (T.N.I) from Thailand visited Tohoku Institute of Technology (T.I.T.).

President Krisada Visavateeranon and Lecturer Koichi Mizutani of Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology from Thailand visited Tohoku Institute of Technology on September 14.
They visited Miyagi Prefecture and T.I.T. to show their heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and its aftermath.
They had a meeting with Chairman of Board Shun-ichi Iwasaki and President Yasuji Sawada.explained to President Krisada about the situation just after the Earthquake and the outlines of ‘Cooperative Projects’ for recovery and reconstruction of disaster areas, which T.I.T has already started with local government and companies.
T.N.I and T.I.T. have had an academic exchange agreement since 2007. We mutually confirmed that we will continue the agreement from 2012 onwards and that we will have a symposium in August, 2012.
