Tohoku Institute of Technology aims to develop human resources through practical education and research that contributes to the community and society

In the 10 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, Tohoku Institute of Technology has launched and continues to work on various revitalization and reconstruction projects. Of note is our regional / industry-academia collaboration project. Spanning five years, starting in 2014, and with the support of the university COC (Center of Community) project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, we concluded a cooperation agreement in town development with Sendai City. To date, we have carried out a total of 47 research projects on campus.
Since 2017, with the support of Miyagi prefecture, we have been part of the Academic Consortium of Sendai and its “Project for the development of human resources and education for reconstruction”, conducting lectures and carrying out practical training in the areas affected by the disaster for the citizens of the prefecture and striving to operate a "corporate support one-stop service project" that supports companies in the disaster area.
A large number of students at Tohoku Institute of Technology have participated in the above projects, and it is certain that the projects have given a new sense of mission to many of them.
