Graduate Department of Electronics

Introduction

What Can You Study Majoring in Electronics?

We now live in a highly developed IT society. Electronic engineering is one of the key technologies which support the information technology. It involves a wide spectrum of technologies from materials to devices, equipment, measurement, control, and systems. In the Electronics major we have three Engineering Sections related to the model courses of the undergraduate studies. The major research topics in the three Sections are as follows: (1) The Section of Electronic Controls carries out studies of autonomous robots, embedded systems, speech recognition, wearable computing, and ad-hoc networking, etc. (2) The Section of Electronic Sensing carries out studies of medical imaging, biological information, photonic and magnetic sensors, and future displays, etc. (3) The Section of Electronic Devices carries out studies of semiconductor devices, radiation detectors, magnetic devices and storage, surface acoustic wave devices, and nano-structure devices, etc. In our graduate school, we educate students and do research with the purpose of developing professional engineers with applicative skills. In the doctoral program, we educate students with a focus on research, aiming at creating professional researchers, educators, and highly professional engineers.
