Design engineering is an area of study which truly exemplifies the motto of our college from creation to integration. Design addresses the fundamental relationship and interaction between human and societal factors, our living environment, and scientific and technological capabilities. The study of design from the perspective of the relationship among commodities, human beings, and their environment; production and communication methods should be studies in integrated way.
To achieve the goals of effective interaction between human beings, symbiosis with nature, and industrial or economical problems in the community, a comprehensive approach that integrate the benefits of all the design sciences should be used. The graduate program aims to equip students to do highly professional service in their chosen fields or to work as researchers in the various fields of design engineering. The program is composed of the following four divisions: Industrial Design Study of industrial design methodologies aimed at promoting harmony between commodities and the human life.
Environmental Design Study of the theory and application of environmental design methodologies aimed at harmonizing design objects and their surrounding environments, and their practical application
Universal Design and Ergonomics Planning of universal design and its evaluation, as well as its application to design for social welfare.
Living Science of Design Planning of better life environments, including study of materials planning and the formulation of modern life design with consideration for the historical change of design.
