Department of Electronics
What Can You Study?
The environment surrounding us is filled with electronic devices from our houses to our workplaces. Electronic engineering encompasses the theories and technology of the application of electrons which control devices. No other branch of studyhas more areas of specialization.
In our department, students can gain the latest knowledge and skills in the areas of electronic devices, electronic materials, electronic circuits, optoelectronics, mechatronics, and so on.

Characteristics of the Department
The main characteristic is that students begin to study the basic theory of electronics and the latest electronics engineering, such as mechatronics and optoelectronics, from the first year. There are a wide range of subjects in the curriculum so that each student can find the area he is interested in. As juniors, all students produce IC (integrated circuit) as hands-on learning experience. It will enable the students to understand the theories and technologies. This kind of project is quite rare within Japanese colleges, making our curriculum distinctive.
As seniors, students are assigned to the seminars of the teachers and do graduation research gaining the ability to adapt to the real world. Our graduates are active in various fields as engineers or researchers.
