Department of Environmental Information Engineering
Key focuses of the 21st century are the environment and information technology. Interest in maintaining the environment is getting stronger and stronger. The Department of Environmental Information Engineering was established in 2001 with the focus on human resources development to meet this demand. In our department, we try to provide our students with a working knowledge of computer engineering, environment assessment engineering and environmental control, and strategic engineering. Through our education, students are expected to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for the conservation of the environment and a new system of society.
The core curriculum consists computer engineering, environment assessment engineering, environment control, strategic engineering and introductory education, and research seminar. Each student is provided with a computer, and students get a well-rounded computer education. In order for the students to gain broad knowledge and skills, the emphasis is put on understanding the fundamental principles of science and technology, and applying that knowledge to understanding other things. To enhance prospects for employment after graduation, instruction is planned in obtaining government-approved certificates, such as pollution control manager, certified manager, data processing specialist, and so on.
