The role of architectonics is to create comfortable and safe living spaces and to provide people with them. In modern society, there are various categories of skills to achieve this goal. Strong needs toward architectonics and good architects are diversified and intensified: due to the demand for earthquake -proof and fireproof structures, residence designed for elderly people, good urban landscape, technical innovation in terms of materials, design, and execution. In addition, human and environment are indispensable elements in architectonics. You need a social viewpoint that includes history, culture, and way of life, and you will also need deep insight. In short, in the Department of Architecture, you will gain practical knowledge and skills and the power to design ideal residential spaces.
The purpose of this department is to train students to become architectural engineers and architects who have the broad knowledge and technology that are required to connect man with environment and flexibly meet the increasingly diversified and advanced needs in architectural-related industries.
Through our curriculum, students learn how to construct comfortable life space and buildings by the time they are juniors. The curriculum is ideal for producing people who will take an active role in architectonics and architecture-related industry.
One of the characteristics of our department is CAD (Computer-Aided Design) education which we introduced into our curriculum prior to other universities in Japan. This is one example of the practical nature of our education. The achievement of graduation research as seniors will be published in the Journal of Graduation Research or in the Collection of Graduation Design and presented to public at an exhibition. This is an opportunity for students to achieve recognition.
